CEEweb organises a Green Infrastructure Workshop in Biebrza National Park, Poland

On 4th and 5th November 2014 CEEweb for Biodiversity together with the European Centre for Nature Conservation  and Biebrza National Park (Poland) organised a workshop for local and regional authorities and environmental practitioners entitled: Shaping the Landscape for Nature and Regional Development: the Possibilities Offered by Green Infrastructure. The workshop consisted in three practical group exercises based around mapping and evaluating landscape elements, project planning and stakeholder conflict resolution, several presentations on national and regional green infrastructure, blue infrastructure, green infrastructure in road construction as well as general introductory presentation introducing the concepts of ecosystem services and natural capital as well as the associated EU strategies and legal framework. The second day of the workshop consisted in a field trip to probolematic areas in Biebrza National Park. You can read more about the agenda and check out the presentations (in Polish) here.
