Agriculture and nature conservation training for small scale family farmers in Serbia

Within the framework of our joint project on transferring “Visegrad experience for small scale farmers in Serbia”, Young Researchers of Serbia and Eco Centar organized a second event which took place from 6-8th April in Serbia, at Zasavica Special Nature Reserve. A training activity, the event gathered 23 participants, most of them farmers, but also representatives of farmers associations and local municipality representatives from all parts of Serbia. The main topics covered during the training were the following:

  • Current status of small scale farming in Serbia
  • European Unions’s (EU) Common Agriculture Policy (CAP) and the development perspectives for small scale farms
  • Perspectives of farmer association
  • National legislation regarding Agriculture and Nature Conservation
  • The Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance in Rural Development (IPARD) program in Serbia

Each of the four sessions met with great interest from participants, who raised a number of thematic questions and shared their own experience on several related points. You can read the report of the event here>>

The project is supported by the International Visegrad Fund and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea.
