Stakeholder workshop on EU action on large carnivores

Large carnivores (brown bear, wolf, lynx and wolverine) have been in the focus of European conservation for a while now. It was recognized that active management and stakeholders’ inclusion are crucial for their effective conservation. In order to discuss the sustainable management and conservation of these species, European Commission’s DG Environment initiated a workshop for am extensive dialogue with relevant stakeholders.

The main aim of the event was to bring together a large number of stakeholders to discuss about potential solutions to human-animal conflicts, to improve collaboration of stakeholders, to commonly identify co-existence options and to define areas of common work.

At the workshop, Mr. Pawel Pawlaczyk from Naturalists Klub Poland and Mr. Nat Page from ADPET, Romania represented CEEweb for Biodiversity.
