An international Biodiversity Picnic was organised at the CBD COP-9 and Countdown Partners Assembly on 22 May in Bonn, Germany, where participants could come together for a picnic in the garden of the meeting venue. After listening to the presentation by Ivonne Higuero from the PEBLDS Joint Secretariat and by Klára Hajdu, Executive Director of CEEweb, participants were invited for the Picnic in the garden. On the grass participants enjoyed a brown-bag picnic lunch. Even Countdown partners, who could not join the meeting in Bonn received the information and invitation to the Pan-European Biodiversity Picnic and were encouraged to join in their own countries.

The event was realised with the support of CEEweb and UNEP Regional Office for Europe.
