The Annual Meeting is the highest decision-making organ of
the organization, while the Board is the decision-making body
in the interim periods. The Advisory Committee formulates
recommendations before Board decisions.
In addition to deciding on issues that arise between the
Annual Meetings, the Board is entitled to form opinion, publish
and represent it as a common standpoint on behalf of CEEweb
if it pursues the aims of the organisation. The President,
Vice-president and the regular member of the Board are elected
by the Annual Meeting. The President has the right for representing
the organisation, coordinates the work of the Board and is
responsible for preparing the strategic decisions concerning
CEEweb activities. The Board holds meetings at least twice
a year, or more times if necessary.
The Advisory Committee was established in 2006 as a response
to the change in the Hungarian legislation, which now only
allows for Hungarian citizens to be Board members. However,
in order to maintain the international profile of CEEweb in
interim decision making processes, the AM decided to create
and elect an Advisory Committee in order to work together
with the Board.
The Advisory Committee consists of three members, as well
as the Chairs of the Working Groups. The three regular members
are elected by the Annual Meeting, while the WG Chairs are
elected by the WGs themselves. The Advisory Commitee has meetings
together with the Board, and comments all proposals for a
Board decision.
