I graduated as a biologist and technical translator

Budapest in 2001, but already started working as a volunteer
and intern at CEEWEB in my last academic year as a student.
After graduation I experienced working in an international
environment as a volunteer for six months at Milieukontakt
Oost-Europa, an Amsterdam based NGO running environmental
projects in the CEE and NIS regions. Since then I have
worked again for CEEWEB and have taken part in the projects
and activities related to the 'Environment for Europe'
process, the Convention on Biological Diversity and
its regional arm, the Pan-European Biological and Landscape
Diversity Strategy.
Currenty I am responsible for managing the CEEweb Network
and within this framework contributing to responsible
and effective policy and decision making towards the
sustainable development of our society.
I graduated from the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj
Napoca, Romania in geography. After moving to Hungary,
I worked among others for the International House, and
joined CEEweb at the end of 2006. Now it is my task
to ensure the administrative functioning of the organisation.
Since 2006 I have been a postgraduate student at the
Technical University of Budapest, studying environmental
management systems. I am especially interested in the
organic development of local communities and would like
to help them with the means provided by Local Agenda
21.
Judit Herman Communications and Network Programme Coordinator

Working Group I primarily would like to facilitate the
integration of biodiversity considerations into the
broader context of rural development and agricultural
production by providing criticisms and joint NGO recommendations
to the relevant political forums.
When I am not working in the office or reading at home,
I am almost always outdoors, cycling in the city, walking

the country (not coincidently, my favourite region is
Õrség-a hilly area covered with diverse
forests and small villages).

illegal dumps, mowing protected hay meadows, disseminating
information for high school students etc.).
I joined CEEWEB in 2005 autumn as a Natura 2000 coordinator,
