Conference on the new RDPs

On 15 September in Brussels almost 150 people came together for the high-level conference of BirdLife Europe, CEEweb, EEB and Fundatia Adept to hear about the state of play in terms of the Rural Development Plans. The conference focused on the priorities including restoration of ecosystems, climate change mitigation and resource efficiency and innovation and knowledge transfer. The European Commission, Member States representatives, academia, farmers and NGOs all expressed their hopes and their concerns in terms of the future agriculture policy at national level and discussed ideas and opportunities. Director General of DG Environment, Karl Falkenberg expressed the gratitude for the conference emphasizing on the role and the importance of opinions of stakeholders and ensuring that green concerns will indeed be reflected.
