Local action for biodiversity: the role of regions – conference in Brussels

The ECNC- European Centre for Nature Conservation and UNEP are arranging the 2nd European Conference on Regions and Biodiversity, ‘Local action for biodiversity: the role of regions’. The conference will be hosted by and take place at the Committee of the Regions (CoR) in Brussels, Belgium on 19 and 20 November 2013.

At the conference, CEEweb for Biodiversity will chair the workshop, Green infrastructure and nature restoration (including gardens, urban farming, etc.). 

The purpose of the conference is to address the role sub national governments can play in initiating, stimulating and supporting local biodiversity initiatives by citizens, NGOs and other stakeholders, in partnership with local and regional governments. It will bring together representatives of regions and local authorities in Europe, as well as other interested stakeholders and governments.
