Objectives and results of the project:

Košice and Miskolc, the centres of the eastern part of the programme area, are dynamically developing cities with significant touristic potentials. The most valuable treasure situated between these cities is the Tokaj wine region. Košice and Miskolc have been trading with wine coming from Tokaj from the beginnings of wine producing. Additionally, Košice had its own vineyard in Abaújszántó. Building on this long established tradition, the three municipalities of Košice, Miskolc and Abaújszántó decided to restore the old connections and to reconstruct their own unused building facilities for wine tourism purposes. The aim of the project was to reconstruct the Lower Gate in Košice Main Street and the foundation of the Wine Museum, to open the Avas exhibition on the history of the Tokaj region in Miskolc, and to reconstruct the House of Uhlans for the Tokaj Museum in Abaújszántó
