The project is aimed to create a transboundary thematic path called „On the track of Austro-Hungary“ as a reconstruction of a historic track Jozefínka, that went from Stropkov through a pilgrimage place Buková hôrka and villages: Gribov, Kožuchovce, Miroľa, Bodrudžal, Krajná Poľná and Nižný Komárnik, and then on the Polish side of the borders through Barwinek, Korczyna, Dukla, Stryzów up to Rzeszow. The partners of the project have to determine a natural start and end of the path, wich is today a natural communication tunnel set by the roads, connecting these scattered villages that are a proof of the presence of the Austro-Hungary. The thematical connection of the path is the cultural heritage of the polish-slovak frontiers of the age of Austro-Hungary, especially connected with the presence of the army in these areas. Historic monuments left in the region of the borders are: barracks, warehouses, houses, public buildings are unique cultural heritage, which is also a historic evidence of the fame of the Habsburg family. To encourage the impact of the project and to return the elements of the mutual identity to the inhabitants of the area of the borders, there will be transboundary activites organized, such as common workshops, exhibitions, festivals focused on the main idea of the path. Technologies such as mobile app or town game are going to be used to display the historic and modern image of the city and to create a bridge between the traditions and the present. The apps are goint to represent the transformation of the architecture of the town throughout the years since the age of Austro-Hungary, through it’s fall caused by Worl War I, up to today’s state of the town.
