Objectives and results of the project:

Goal: provide tangible measures to reduce the CO2 generated by the tourism activity, in a model area for sustainable development.
Objectives:
- develop a specific cycling offer for tourists
- increase the attractivity of the region for bikers
- stimulate the sustainable mobility
- decrease the carbon emissions generated by the tourism activities of the local guesthouses
Results: 6 new bicycle trails developed enable the villages along the Cosau valley for bikers, 20 tourism attractions equipped with bike-racks facilitating parking, 6 guesthouses equipped and prepared for cycling. A GPS driven tourism guide developed for mobiles and tablets, a web site developed and 3000 leaflets with map secure attraction of responsible tourist clientele and stimulate the carbon free mobility. In addition a partnership of 25 guesthouses demonstrates efficient practices to reduce their CO2 emissions, facilitating at the same time the access on market for the local producers.
