Objectives and results of the project:

The project contributed especially to the protection of forests in
Eastern Slovakia. A number of trees in the protected areas were
saved from being cut down, several legal norms were changed
for better protection of forests and biodiversity. By establishing
7 geocache trails and training people interested in outdoor
guiding, WOLF created the possibility for people living in naturally
valuable areas to earn some money . The saved forests contribute
to the protection of biodiversity and to reducing the risk of
fl ooding which in general is on the increase in sub-mountainous
areas
