Policy Working Group meeting, 2011

Resource use and biodiversity –
finding appropriate tools to influence policy and practice

CEE NGO workshop
18 May, 2011, Budapest

The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the resource policy tools presented at the Green Week satellite side event on 16 May, with the title ‘From resource efficiency to limiting resource use – innovative tools for a sustainable Europe’. This discussion was followed up by electronic discussion and eventually led to the adoption of a CEE NGO position on an appropriate tool for resource use limitation at EU level, which was fed into the June workshop of the Resource Cap Coalition in Spain, as an input of CEE NGOs. Besides, the adopted CEE NGO position also provided a basis of further awareness raising activities and lobbying at the Hungarian and Polish Presidencies, with special focus on the Nature Directors Meeting in June 2011.
