The principal objective of the project is to initiate the
development and implementation of a sustainable regional /
rural development plan of the selected small Romanian municipality
in the Carpathians.
In other words this project aims:
- to assist in the design and implementation of a regional
/ rural development plan while aiming at sustainability
- to utilize local resources for the locals' benefits
- to save and maintain the existing traditional organic
cultures
- to promote the principle of co-existence with nature
in rural areas
When developing the plan, national and international environmental
and development commitments and guidelines (EU enlargement
requirements, Carpathian
Convention, Convention
on Biological Diversity) were taken into account.
The selected local municipality has the opportunity to get
acquainted with similar initiatives both in the “old”
and “new” EU member states.
CEEWEB
is responsible for the management of the project. That includes
keeping the contact with DOEN Foundation and the partner organisations
in Transilvania. The project coordinator visits the project
site every half a year.
Milvus Group
is the local project partner responsible for the implementation
of the development plan. They keep contact with the local
people and reports to CEEWEB on the implementation.
Romanian Environmental
Partnership Foundation participated in the first phase
of the project by organising a training for local people on
their future vision. The outcome of this training was a development
concept of local people for their community.
DOEN Foundation
is the donor of the project. The foundation provides funds
for projects on projects Sustainable Development, Welfare
and Culture. Our project is supported because its main aim
is to develop the community of Neaua in the spirit of the
global concept of sustainability.
