Natura 2000 Working Group

Activities

The activities of the Working Group are planned annually. The activities for 2008 are included in the CEEweb Work Programme 2008-10.

Current activities

CEEweb is co-ordinating technical input into the Biogeographic Seminars from relevant NGOs within the new EU Member States on behalf of the European Habitats Forum (EHF), in liaison with the EHF Secretariat. Read more >>

Military Trainig Areas Programme - The value of military lands for nature conservation is generally well understood by conservationists. Because of a number of factors (size, absence of settlement and economic development, restrictions on access etc) training areas used by the armed forces have tended to keep landscape and wildlife features which have become rare in the more intensely used parts of their countries. CEEweb aims to transfer experiences to candidate and potential candidate countries and thus organised a seminar to SEE NGOs on 12 October in Belgarde, Serbia. Read more>>

Awareness raising and communication on Natura 2000 - The publication "Services of nature - How Natura 2000 contributes to the provision of ecosystem services for human wellbeing" was prepared and distibuted among local municipalities. The pdf is avaiable in 9 CEE languages+English under publications.

Previous activities
