Environmentally friendly zero-residue technology for the production of liquid biofuel and biogas from biomass

Organisation: Green Liberty Website: www.zalabriviba.lv Added: March 21, 2023
Project start date: May 01, 2019
Project end date: April 30, 2022

Narrative

Within the framework of the project, it is planned to carry out a non-economic project in Engineering and Technology and to develop an efficient, environmentally friendly zero-residue technology for the processing of lignocellulosic biomass to produce biofuel and biogas. The advantages of the technology are related to several innovative solutions, such as the use of a specific mixture of enzymes and surfactants in the production process, as well as the further processing of hydrolysis residues into biogas.

Financial data

Total investment: 636 743.75 €. EU investment: 422 284.96 € (66.3%).

Recommendations

This type of biofuel production is very important as a transition technology that should be implemented as soon as possible if economically feasible. This project is relevant not only locally, but also globally, in order to be able to produce high-quality non-residue fuel from agricultural residues in an energy-efficient and climate-friendly way.
