Project start date: June 01, 2021
Project end date: November 30, 2023

Narrative

The aim of the project is to develop the design and manufacturing technology of the heat exchange system with stress corrosion cracking different types of thermorelays. The heat exchange system must be configurable and able to connect multiple heat sources (evaporators) to multiple heat sinks (condensers). It should also be electronically adjustable to control the heat flows, but at the same time provide the priority heat exchange configuration in the absence of control.

Financial data

Total investment: 527 065.35 €. EU investment: 433 722.07 € (82.2%).

Recommendations

There are a lot of heat sources in any transportation device as well there are a lot of systems that require thermal management in them. This research should look into a solution that could replace existing solutions that are not interconnected and look into ways of combining them in a singular system in a way that optimizes energy usage and reliability.

European Climate Initiative (EUKI)
This project is part of the European Climate Initiative (EUKI). EUKI is a project financing instrument by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). The EUKI competition for project ideas is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH. It is the overarching goal of the EUKI to foster climate cooperation within the European Union (EU) in order to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.
