Narrative

The Center for Ecological Education "Arka" (CEE ARKA) operates in the complex of the Agricultural and General Education School in Żywiec. As part of the project, the area along the Moszczanka stream valley was rehabilitated - the degraded area of about 7 hectares was cleaned, invasive plants were removed, trees, shrubs and melliferous plants were planted, bird nesting boxes and insect shelters were installed. The historic stables building from 1907 named "Under the Horse's Head" on the property was modernized and transformed into a modern environmental education center that is accessible to people with disabilities. Educational and sensory trails have been created around the building to enable outdoor activities. The main thematic lines of CEE ARKA's activities are: bees; herbs and honey plants; ecology and the environment; waste separation and recycling. The opening of CEE ARKA took place in September 2020.
