Narrative

The main objective and characteristics of the project: the main objective of the project "Sustainable Mobility Plan of the Regional City of Trnava and its functional area" was to support the increase of the attractiveness and competitiveness of public passenger transport, especially non-motorised transport, and to contribute to the change of the unfavourable development in the division of transport work in favour of more sustainable and environmentally friendly modes of transport, such as cycling and walking in particular, through the elaboration of a key strategic document in the field of transport - the Sustainable Mobility Plan of the Regional City of Trnava and its functional area. All of the above topics, in line with the focus and objectives of the Integrated Regional Operational Programme, are contained and specified in the Sustainable Mobility Plan of the regional city of Trnava and its functional area, which is made up of 15 municipalities of the Trnava Urban Functional Area: Biely Kostol, Bohdanovce nad Trnavou, Brestovany, Bučany, Dolné Lovčice, Hrnčiarovce nad Parnou, Jaslovské Bohunice, Malženice, Ružindol, Suchá nad Parnou, Šelpice, Špačince, Zavar, Zeleneč and Zvončín. Policies, programmes, analyses, recommendations and proposals for the comprehensive and sustainable development of the transport infrastructure in the study area over several time horizons are specified in detail in the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan, covering all relevant modes and forms of transport in the study area. Accordingly, the implementation of the project has contributed to the promotion of a sustainable local transport system that will guarantee safe and efficient mobility and access to services and infrastructure in the project area for all categories of citizens, as well as for visitors to the regional city of Trnava and the municipalities of its urban functional area, in particular through sustainable and more environmentally friendly modes of transport. A proper and balanced development of the transport system can only be ensured on the basis of a relevant sustainable mobility plan, which includes all relevant modes of transport and analyses in detail the issues of transport infrastructure development up to 2050. For the City of Trnava and the municipalities of its urban functional area associated in the ZOMOT association, the Sustainable Mobility Plan is a key strategic document designed to meet the mobility needs of the inhabitants of the area with a clear link to all major local activities, services and infrastructure.
