Narrative

Project Objective: The project objective is to be achieved through the development of one conceptual strategy document - climate change adaptation, is considered a green infrastructure element and a tangible physical output of the project. Defining a systematic set of actions, responding to reduce vulnerability and increase adaptive capacity to the impacts of climate change, both in technical and procedural terms, which will facilitate the entire decision-making and management process of the city of Trenčín in adapting to the adverse effects of climate change, while allowing to increase the share of green infrastructure in the total area of the city of Trenčín. Project description: The city of Trenčín as the target area for the implementation of the project "Climate Change Adaptability Strategy of the City of Trenčín" belongs to ecologically balanced cities, however, a conceptual strategic document that would include timeless solutions in the field of environmental, ecological, social and economic to eliminate the negative impacts of climate change, taking advantage of its positive effects and promoting sustainable urbanism and sustainable development of the city of Trenčín is absent in the city.

Total eligible expenditure: €110 026,56 Amount of EU and SF contribution (95%): 104 525,23 € Own resources of the City of Trenčín (5%): 5 501,33 € This project is co-financed by the European Union with 85% from the European Regional Development Fund and 10% from the State Budget of the Slovak Republic.


Recommendations

Climate change is a complex problem and therefore needs to be addressed through a holistic approach. Strategic documents of this type offer an example for other municipalities as well.
