Narrative
Project Objective: The aim of the project is to increase the share of the division of transport work in favour of more environmentally friendly modes of transport - cycling on urban mobility in the city of Trenčín, in its urban part Západ - forming the urban districts Záblatie, Malé Záblatie, Zlatovce, Istebník, Orechové and adjacent municipalities in the urban functional area of Trenčín by continuing to build a compact network of cycling infrastructure - cycling roads with the necessary measures aimed at calming traffic and increasing the safety of vulnerable road users. Project description: The target area is the regional city of Trenčín from Vážska magistrála to ul. Istebnícka, which, according to the cycling transport master plan of the city of Trenčín, forms a transport link of the F branch of the radial cycling route with a priority transport function and which, by linking to the Vážská magistrála with a continuation to the cross-border cycling route Trenčín-Nemšová-Czech Republic, provides access to several economic hubs in the city, generating more than 300 jobs. The project outputs in the form of a 1.5980 km section of a new cycling road on and near the local service road of functional class C1 in the form of a segregated cycle path - cycle path, a shared pedestrian and cycle path and cycle corridor and 1 traffic calming element in the form of preference for cycling and walking over individual traffic (barrier-free connection of local roads, special warning strip to separate cyclists and pedestrians made of adhesive polyurethane elements, complete vertical and horizontal traffic signs implemented in accordance with STN 018020, Decree No. 9/2009 and TP 085, public lighting) will enable better urban mobility of the inhabitants of Trenčín and adjacent municipalities in the urban functional area of Trenčín.

Recommendations
Building a network of cycle routes that functionally connect to each other is an important prerequisite for the greater development of cycling in cities.
