Project start date: June 01, 2021
Project end date: May 01, 2022

Narrative

The fish processing enterprise "Unda" acquired a solar PV park located at the shoreline of the Baltic Sea. In 2022, it was one of the largest solar power stations in Latvia (236 kW). The enterprise will use the power for daily operations and freezers.

Financial data

Total investment 165 460 EUR, consisting of a bank loan and funding from the Rural Development Programme (European Maritime and Fisheries Fund).

Recommendations

Well-sited renewable energy projects increase landscape quality. Industrial self-consumption or renewable energy should be promoted as the cornerstone of energy transition.
