Narative
The subject of the project is the construction of a kindergarten in Sedlejov, with a capacity of 25 children (children aged from 2 to 6 or 7 years), including a garden and play elements. The need for a kindergarten in the village is related to population growth. The increase in the demand for placing children in kindergartens in the village is also based on the insufficient capacity of kindergartens in the surrounding villages. What is unique about this kindergarten is that it was built in passive standard and has minimal energy consumption. The building uses modern technologies such as a heat pump or heat recovery ventilation. The building also includes retention tanks to catch rainwater, which is then used for irrigating the garden.
Financial data
The construction of a kindergarten cost a total of EUR 682 688, 85% of which was covered by the European Regional Development Fund (EUR 580 284).
Recommendations
Due to population growth in Czechia, there is a need to expand nursery places. This project brings together this aspect as well as the need for energy efficiency. With more kindergartens expected to be built, it is advisable to use this project as a shining example for others projects to follow.
