CEEweb Academy on Climate Change and Biodiversity

22-24 July 2010, Maramures, Romania

The primary objective of the event was to build capacity and expertise of CEE NGOs. The interrelation between combating climate change and conserving biodiversity is the special focus, with the aim of finding multiple win solutions, which are beneficial for the climate, for the society and for biodiversity.
Besides, our objective was to strengthen public participation in the Central and East European (CEE) region in climate change and nature conservation activities, in order to assure dissemination of relevant information towards national decision makers, as well as common representation of interests towards the European Commission. Therefore, project planning was an important part of the meeting.
The location of the meeting was one of the most beautiful wilderness area of the Carpathians, which was an inspiring environment for our discussions.
