Dr Ildikó Varga
Dr Ildikó Varga worked for over 17 years in the Ministry of Agriculture of Hungary, having been responsible for the nature conservation theme area. Prior to that, she worked in the fields of hydrobiology and ecology. Her expertise includes the areas of biodiversity monitoring, research organisation, administration and management of ecological cases, and establishment and management of the Natura 2000 network, as well as management of the national ecological network of Hungary and representation in different expert groups and committees at the EU level.
She is a PhD in Biology Sciences and holds an MSc in Biology (Eötvös Lóránd University, Hungary), with specialisation in ecology and evolutionary genetics. She speaks Hungarian and English.
Ildikó joined CEEweb for Biodiversity in 2020 as a Biodiversity Policy Office, with a special focus on Natura 2000 and the water protection area.
