Anna has worked as a field researcher and ornithologist for the past 10 years — a career path that has taken her from Georgia to Switzerland — actively promoting the conservation of biodiversity. She has been a Board Member and Project Manager at the Batumi Raptor Count, as well as a research assistant at the Swiss Ornithological Institute and the University of Bern, in Switzerland. During her career, she has developed extensive expertise in human-wildlife conflict management, community-based conservation initiatives, awareness-raising, and interdisciplinary research.
Anna holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences and Policy (Central European University, Hungary) and a BSc in Wildlife Management (University of West Hungary, Hungary). She speaks Hungarian, English, French, and Russian, and is currently learning German.
She joined CEEweb for Biodiversity in 2021 and works as Biodiversity Policy Expert, being responsible for EU policy and advocacy in connection to the implementation of the Birds and Habitats Directives, and the Water Framework Directive.
In her free time, Anna is passionate about lindy hop and forró, a Brazilian dance she has been practising since 2017. She also plays squash and is an active nature lover and outdoors person all seasons through.
