CEEweb represents a network of 35 environmental and non-profit organisations from 15 Central and Eastern European countries working for the sake of the regional and national stances on biodiversity conservation and sustainability needs. The network works together contributing with policy positions and advocacy activities to protect the biological heritage of Central and Eastern Europe, while also contributing through our work to the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Since its outset, CEEweb has understood sustainable development as the path to conserving biological diversity. Thus, we have been strongly engaged in the discussions leading up to the adoption of the United Nations' post-2015 global agenda and have remained ever since committed to its fulfilment. Moreover, while the focus of our work remains on environmental sustainability and, in particular, biodiversity, we consistently take a holistic approach to sustainability issues. The realization that biodiversity conservation is embedded and inalienable from the systems in which they are managed is, furthermore, reflected in CEEweb’s 2020-2025 Strategy.
