Nature-based solutions (NBS) broadly aim to address the challenges associated with ecosystem resilience, climate change, human health, and wellbeing. Nature-based solutions do this through integrating established ecosystem-based approaches such as biodiversity conservation, ecosystem service protection and green infrastructure. By integrating these approaches NBS can be used to holistically tackle social, economic, and environmental issues as well as build resilience to future threats.
