Private Funding Opportunities for the Environment in Central and Eastern Europe

Whilst the European Union acts as an important source of funding for environmental and biodiversity conservation within Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), there are also many private funding opportunities that environmental Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) could utilise in order to maximise their positive impact. This article provides a short summary of CEEweb’s research into private funding, including key examples of funding schemes that are available and our work surveying the experiences of NGOs in the CEE-region, and provides key recommendations to organisations that are looking to expand their funding sources to the private sector.
