BUILDING THE EUROPEAN PEATLANDS INITIATIVE: A STRONG ALLIANCE FOR PEATLAND CLIMATE PROTECTION IN EUROPE

APPLICATION DEADLINE:  July 15, 2024

DEADLINE OF COMPLETION: Sept 30, 2024

The OBJECTIVE of the assignment is to provide peatland policy expert services for the outcomes of the project.

PROJECT LANGUAGE: English

TERRITORIAL SCOPE: Central and Eastern Europe

THE EXPERT SERVICES INCLUDE:

  • Developing one guidance on science-based emission reduction pathways for peatlands and soils connected to five national climate strategies from Central and Eastern Europe. (Deadline of completion: Aug 31. 2024).
  • Providing recommendations for peatland-related national action plans for peatland management measures and their funding, focusing on the condition of peat soils and how emissions from organic soils contribute to the LULUCF sectors. (Deadline of completion: Sept 30. 2024 - may extended with mutual agreement)

EXPECTED RESULT: Guidance and recommendation papers. Target value:  2

TIME HORIZON OF ACTIVITY AND LOCATION: The expert services are expected to be provided between July 20 – Sept 30, 2024, email and online consultations are expected during the assignment.

PROFESSIONAL APPLICATION CRITERIA:

  • Strong background in the topic of peatland policy or closely related policies
  • Experience in publicly funded (e.g.: EU) projects
  • Proficiency in the English language, especially in writing
  • Ability for independent work, possessing the necessary technical equipment
  • Experience in assessing international and national policies, strategies

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The applicant should be a registered entrepreneur, NGO, or a private company in a European country with the ability to issue an invoice.

PROPOSED BUDGET: 1660 EUR (gross)

REQUIREMENT OF THE PROFESSIONAL AND FINANCIAL OFFER:

The offer shall contain:

  • CV & a cover letter
  • Professional offer containing a list of at least three proofs of experience (e.g. studies, publications, project outcomes) in the field, with links to access them  
  • Financial offer including all fees/costs (including VAT if relevant) of professional services provided by the applicant, including all technically and physically required materials and equipment, which makes the applicant able to fulfil the task (no separate reimbursement will be provided by the project)
  • Proof of professional knowledge of the English language
  • Proof of legal registration as private entrepreneur/NGO/organization/company (community VAT number)

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

  • Entrepreneurs/NGOs /organizations/companies should submit their applications alongside the above-mentioned documents electronically.
  • All application documents and questions must be written in English and sent by email to Eliza Óhegyi, Project Coordinator at eohegyi@ceeweb.org.
  • Applicants will be announced on the results of the tender at latest by 20 July 2024. The winner will be provided with the draft of the contract(s) including all the payment conditions.
  • The offer will be automatically rejected if the offer does not include all expected documents.
  • The contract will be awarded to the most economically advantageous tender, which is identified on the basis of the best price-quality ratio.
  • Interviews for selecting candidates will be organized online between July 15-20, 2024.
  • CEEweb reserves the right to withdraw the tender if the price-offers exceed the budget allocated to the tasks or if the applications do not fulfil all requirements of the tender.
