Narrative
The LIFE WatClima project aims to address the challenges posed by climate change in the water sector in Bulgaria. The country has experienced extreme floods and droughts, leading to significant damages and disruptions in water supply. The project aims to develop two key water strategy documents, the National Strategy for Management & Development of the Water Sector and the National Strategy for Development & Management of the Water Supply & Sanitation Sector, in a synchronized manner. By improving the capacity of the relevant ministries and stakeholders, the project seeks to enhance the governance and planning of climate action policies in the water sector. It aims to integrate climate objectives into water policies, mobilize investments, and involve stakeholders and civil society in the strategic decision-making process.
