Organisation: Green Liberty Website: Added: June 30, 2023
Project start date: December 29, 2017
Project end date: December 28, 2018

The aim of the project is to promote the use of environmentally friendly public transport and increase the number of passengers in environmentally friendly public transport. As part of the project, four M3 category electric buses have been purchased and a charging infrastructure has been created in the territory of the bus park of SIA "Rēzeknes satiksme". As a result of the project, after the purchase of new environmentally friendly public transport, energy consumption is 9% lower compared to the current situation and a 25% increase in the number of passengers in environmentally friendly public transport.

Financial data

Total investment: 1 939 702.60 €. EU investment: 1 319 861.90 € (68,0%).

Rēzekne was the first municipality in the Baltics to use electric buses, and thus attracted the attention of other municipalities. The good experience certainly encouraged other municipalities to follow suit. It is expected from Rēzekne that the bus fleet will continue to be supplemented with emission-free buses.
